Brian Scanlon leads the elections team for The Associated Press (AP). He has been with the AP since 2006 and has been working in the polling and elections space for over 25 years. Prior to joining the AP, Scanlon worked for Ipsos Public Affairs, the AP’s pollster of record at the time. Since joining the AP, he has developed services and platforms to help AP members better serve their audiences. Mr. Scanlon is a graduate of Loyola University of Chicago and the Sulzberger Program at Columbia University School of Journalism.

He is currently working with Sikka Software to develop an information business from their very detailed and comprehensive dental and veterinary market data, and also with the Associated Press, where he is helping them develop their Election Data strategy.
 


In his long career as an operating executive, he has successfully grown companies both organically and via acquisition on a global scale. He was CEO of PE-backed PerTrac Financial Solutions, a global provider of data and analytics for hedge funds and their investors. Before that, he held divisional President/CEO responsibilities at several large companies, including Thomson Financial and Reuters. He was Chairman & CEO of FAME Information Services, a PE-backed “Big Data” enterprise software and services company. Prior companies include EJV Partners, Telerate and Hewlett Packard. 


 
Gerry earned both a PhD and Masters in Electrical Engineering (Biomedical) from the University of Toronto and a BSc in Electrical Engineering from the University of Manitoba.
