Meet the Panelists

Gerry Mintz is a highly strategic business leader and advisor with extensive experience in the FinTech and B2B information and enterprise software businesses.


In 2010, he founded Percepta Partners LLC, an Advisory firm focused on helping businesses develop and implement innovative product & market growth strategies. He has also served as a Board member for both public and private firms and an Advisory Board member for several early-stage FinTech companies, including several in the Alt Data market.

 



He is currently working with Sikka Software to develop an information business from their very detailed and comprehensive dental and veterinary market data, and also with the Associated Press, where he is helping them develop their Election Data strategy.

 



In his long career as an operating executive, he has successfully grown companies both organically and via acquisition on a global scale. He was CEO of PE-backed PerTrac Financial Solutions, a global provider of data and analytics for hedge funds and their investors. Before that, he held divisional President/CEO responsibilities at several large companies, including Thomson Financial and Reuters. He was Chairman & CEO of FAME Information Services, a PE-backed “Big Data” enterprise software and services company. Prior companies include EJV Partners, Telerate and Hewlett Packard. 



 

Gerry earned both a PhD and Masters in Electrical Engineering (Biomedical) from the University of Toronto and a BSc in Electrical Engineering from the University of Manitoba.

Percepta Partners LLC is an Advisory firm focused on developing and implementing innovative product and market strategies in the information and enterprise software business. Percepta works with companies large and small to develop innovative growth strategies. “Sounding Board” advisor for CEOs of small and mid-sized companies. Serves venture capital and private equity investors to develop or refine strategies for existing portfolio companies and assess the value of potential acquisitions or investments. Works closely with VC/PE portfolio companies as advisor and Board member. Leverages decades of operating experience in the FinTech and B2B markets in both growing markets and during major market downturns to help firms find the best path forward.

Marc X. LoPresti, Esq. is a Wall Street veteran with over 20 years’ experience in the asset management industry, having started his career on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange working for Lehman Brothers. In addition to being founder of LoPresti Law Group, PC (“LLG”), he is: co-founder and Board Member, BattleFin Group, LLC; Executive Committee, Ranger Global Real Estate Advisors, LLC; Management Committee, Alternative Capital Advisors, LLC; Executive Committee, Low Emission Resources Corp.; co-founder and managing director, IDI Group (a multi-family office VC platform).

 

Marc is also a recognized authority on securities laws and alternative investment management appearing regularly on CNBC and other financial news networks including Bloomberg, Fox and international financial news networks. He graduated from New York Law School in 1997. Marc and his team also assist BattleFin and the BattleFin community with developing policies and procedures for complying with the ever-changing landscape of regulation impacting buyers and sellers in the data industry.
