Jeff Cohen is the Director of Capital Markets Integration at SASB and the Head of Private Investments Initiatives. In his role, Mr. Cohen works with institutional investors and asset owners, facilitating dialogue on financially material ESG issues for implementation into investment decisions across private markets strategies.
Prior to joining SASB, Mr. Cohen was Head of Business Development at Sonen Capital, an ESG & Impact dedicated OCIO and fund manager. Prior to Sonen, he was a Director of Investment Opportunities at Venovate where he led due diligence on private and alternative investment strategies ranging from timber, real estate, hedge funds, and secondary strategies. Mr. Cohen has spent his career working with sophisticated investors at organizations such as Deutsche Bank, Merrill Lynch, and Gerson Lehrman Group.
He holds an MBA from Georgetown University and a BBA from the University of Michigan. Mr. Cohen is a CAIA Charter Holder and FSA Credential Holder.
The Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) is an independent nonprofit organization that sets standards to guide disclosure of financially material sustainability information by companies to their investors.
Balaji Gopalan is a Principal Solutions Architect with Amazon Web Services, where he guides financial services customers to build highly secure, operationally efficient, reliable, performant, and cost-efficient applications on the cloud. He has also been advising customers on how they can harness data on the cloud to move up the information value chain. As an active member of the industry wide EDM Council’s Cloud Management Capabilities working group, he is helping define best practices for cloud data management. Balaji brings over 20 years of Capital Markets experience, working at both the buy side (at a Quant Hedge fund) and the sell side (Tier-One Investment Bank), where he focused on electronic trading, algorithmic trading, and time series analytics across Equities and Fixed Income divisions. Balaji holds a Masters in Computer Science from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and a Bachelors of Engineering in Computer Science from Madras University.
Svetla is an experienced FinTech innovation strategist with expertise in the use of unstructured, ESG, and alternative data to enable investment decisions through Artificial Intelligence and Natural Language Processing. She currently manages Technology Partnerships for Financial Services at Amazon Web Services where she is responsible for expanding Amazon's Partner Network to include and grow fintechs of strategic value, with a focus on ESG and sustainable investing solutions. She started her career in FinTech as a founding member and primary business analyst of the S&P Global Innovation Lab. She then led the Innovation Lab of APG Asset Management in New York, and was most recently a part of Grant Thornton’s FinTech innovation solutioning initiative, where she developed Grant Thornton’s sustainable investing and digital transformation offering for the Asset Management vertical. Svetla holds a BA in Economics from Adelphi University’s Honors College, a Master's in Climate and Society from Columbia University, where she was also a Research Fellow at the Earth Institute, and an Executive MBA from The Wharton School. She is also a Money 20/20 Europe 2019 Rise Up Academy alumna, a Standout35 on the Innovate Finance Women in FinTech Powerlist for 2019, on the list of 50 Inspiring Fintech Females by NYC Fintech Women for 2019, a published author, conference speaker, content curator, and advisor for Holt Fintech Accelerator. Her volunteer efforts focus on STEM initiatives and mentoring for not-for-profits such as FIRST Robotics, NFTE, Year Up, Girls in Tech, and Built by Girls.
